A safe home means more than having a roof overhead. It means being able to move through your home without fear, stay protected from the weather, and live with dignity.
Baytown Habitat for Humanity’s Home Repair Program helps eligible homeowners address small to moderate repair needs that affect their health, safety, accessibility, and daily living.
Depending on available funding and the condition of the home, eligible projects may include:
- Health and safety repairs that reduce hazards
- Accessibility improvements
- Weatherization and basic energy efficiency improvements
- Minor interior or exterior repairs that address unsafe or inadequate conditions
Each request is reviewed individually to determine whether the work fits within our program and available resources.

What Does Partnership Mean?
Habitat’s work is built on partnership. Homeowners may contribute through sweat equity, participation by family members, or other approved activities.
If a disability or medical condition limits your ability to participate, our staff can discuss alternative ways to partner.
Homeowners are also responsible for keeping work areas clear, accessible, and reasonably safe before and during repairs.
-
How to Get Started
Contact our office to discuss your repair needs and current program availability.
If your request may qualify, staff will explain the application process and required documentation. This may include verification of household income, homeownership, and residency, followed by a home assessment.
Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Projects depend on funding, the urgency of the need, property conditions, and our capacity to complete the work. A waiting list may apply.

Program Limits
Our program focuses on manageable repairs that help homeowners remain safely housed. We do not provide emergency repair services, cosmetic improvements, full home renovations, or reconstruction.
Repair scope and scheduling depend on available resources and safe working conditions.
