At Baytown Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, decent place to live. We bring people together to build not just homes, but the foundation for stronger families, deeper roots, and a brighter Baytown.

What We Do:

Baytown Habitat for Humanity provides safe, affordable homes for hardworking families in the Baytown area through a community-based model that blends volunteer engagement, financial education, and partnership housing. Our program includes applicant screening, homeowner education, sweat equity hours, and construction of new energy efficient homes built alongside volunteers and community partners. Families purchase their homes with an affordable mortgage that supports long term stability.

Beyond construction, the program strengthens families through financial classes, home maintenance training, community events, and wraparound support. We also engage corporate and civic groups in volunteer days, which increases community investment and broadens the impact of each build. Every home we complete adds long term value to the neighborhood and helps break cycles of overcrowded or unsafe housing.

  • We have a few new board members so this calls for introductions! First up is Kerri.

Kerri Hurlbut serves as Director of Foundation Board Relations and Operations at Lee College, where she has worked for 14 years. Throughout her tenure, she has held several roles, including Scholarship Coordinator and Manager of Foundation Operations, building extensive experience in development, fundraising, and donor relations. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing from the University of Houston Clear Lake.

Kerri is honored to serve on the board of Habitat for Humanity Baytown and is passionate about the organization’s mission to provide safe, affordable housing along with the education and support that empower families to build stability and long-term success.

A longtime resident of the Baytown area, Kerri has lived in the Houston region for nearly three decades. She and her husband, Jason, are enjoying life as empty nesters while their daughter, Laila, attends Lamar University pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering. In her free time, Kerri enjoys baking, traveling, and has recently started guitar lessons, something she has always wanted to do.

Please help us welcome her to the team, I know she will be a great addition to our organization.
