For someone with limited mobility, the steps at their front door can become a barrier to everyday life. A wheelchair ramp can make it possible to attend medical appointments, visit loved ones, and safely enter and leave home.
Baytown Habitat for Humanity partners with Texas Ramp Project to help neighbors regain that freedom through accessible ramp construction.
Our Partnership
Through our partnership with Texas Ramp Project, Baytown Habitat brings local volunteers together to help build ramps for neighbors in need.
All ramp requests must first go through Texas Ramp Project’s referral process. Requests are reviewed through their program before a potential build is coordinated.
Who Can Receive Assistance?
Texas Ramp Project serves individuals with a medical or mobility need who cannot afford a ramp. This may include people who use a wheelchair or walker, have a disability, or cannot safely navigate the steps at their home.
Eligibility and availability are determined through Texas Ramp Project’s referral and review process.

How to Get Started
- Speak with a qualified referral source. Ask your healthcare provider, social worker, or community service organization to submit a referral on your behalf.
- Have them review Texas Ramp Project’s requirements. The referring professional or organization should visit the Texas Ramp Project website for eligibility information and referral instructions.
- Allow time for review and coordination. Scheduling depends on local demand, available resources, and volunteer capacity.
Individuals and family members should not submit a referral directly. Please work with a qualified professional or organization to begin.
